Rapala Lures and Crankbait

In the 1930s, one fisherman turned a simple idea into something profound. It all started with the idea that large fish eat smaller ones, even more so if they are wounded. This fisherman was Lauri Rapala and he fished in the Finnish waters of Lake Paijanne. He would often just sit and observe how the bigger fish would thrust into a school of minnows and pick off the weaker minnows that were swimming with a gimp. Time and time again this would be observed by him. This is the idea that Rapala lures are designed in mind with and why millions of fisherman around the world swear by Rapala lures.
