Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips
Using line that is excessive in weight is a common error on the part of the bass angler, this can contribute to unsuccessful fishing sorties. There are people that catch bass as their lively hood, you may have seen them on television, their main objective is to get the fish into their vessel in the shortest possible time and to do this they will use a heavy fishing line, however, this is not the case for the everyday bass fisherman or woman. Just bear in mind that the stated weight of fishing line means the weight it will support before breaking. For example, if a line states that its pound test is 10 pounds that means that the line will snap at any weight above 10 pounds and far be it for me to beg the question "just how many 10 pound bass have you landed in recent times?" You have also the flex of your rod and reel action to absorb some of the forces acting on your line. Using a line that is too heavy when fishing for largemouth bass is more of a hindrance.
I don't mean to be rude about your personal hygiene, but bass are very sensitive to unusual smells and they will not bite if they detect something out of the ordinary. You don't want your hands smelling of the after-shave you had for your birthday, it may smell nice to humans but largemouth bass, no! Wash your hands with a de-odorizing soap and consider using a fish attraction spay on your bait or lure.
That concludes my 3 largemouth bass fishing tips. Include them in your routine and you will improve your success rate.
