A Quick Bass Fishing Tip

North American Fisherman Magazine
I just wanted to post real quick about an email I received from the North American Fishing Club. It was regarding a good bass fishing tip I thought I'd share with you. The tip comes from experienced bass angler Frank Campbell. He has a tried and true method to catching more bass.

The tip comes from experienced bass angler Frank Campbell. The tip is a tried and true method that he's used on his guides many times. His bass fishing tip is to simply substitute a tube jig for the usual drop-shot sinker.

As the waters warm in spring and the bass become a little more aggressive, go with a tube-jig anchored drop-shot for even more strikes.

"This is an ideal search bait setup. The tube jig scours the bottom, while the bait on the drop-shot hook shows bass something up off the bottom." says Campbell.

Typically Frank Campbell goes with a softbody minnow imitator on the drop-shot hook with a 3-4 inch tube body on the jighead that replaces the sinker. These are seperated by about 18-24 inches. According to the water depth, weather conditions, and bass aggressiveness, adjust the jig size appropriately. On a lot of days, the jig itself will get you a lot of strikes.
