Yo-Zuri Mag Minnow Review

The Yo-Zuri Mag Minnow lure carries a very unique design. This lure is not your typical crankbait. The Yo Zuri Mag Minnow lure, as the name suggests, has magnetic bearings inside it that are designed to give it not only a longer cast, but also a very aggressive swimming action. It has a semi translucent body to it so that you can see the bearing action inside the lure. After only a few casts and seeing the swimming action for yourself, you'll be convinced that the magnet design works. This lure has not only a long cast, the magnets inside it give it a very straight and accurate cast. Typical to Yo-Zuri lures, it is high quality and has very attractive coloring along with a holographic eye that stands out. The steel rings on the hooks and on the front lip are made very strong and will not fail on even some of the biggest fish.

 

 

Because the Mag Minnow has a very aggressive swimming action, it lends itself well to a fishing technique known as ripping. Use this lure on more active fish that may be residing in warmer waters. This will allow you to take full advantage of its swimming action and will generate lots of strikes. While on the retrieve, you will want to use a fairly fast retrieve. Then, occassionally "rip" or jerk the rod tip up at erratic intervals to create that sporadic jerk swimming action underwater. Rip it to the left and to the right as well to cover a lot of water. You will also want to be sure to use a strong rod as well as strong line with this lure as its aggressive swimming action can put a lot of stress on the rod and fishing line.

 

 

The Mag Minnow is perfect for aggressive fish. Use this lure on fish such as striped bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, or any other aggressive fish that will take any bait swimming quickly and erradically.
